Open fill has been making grants to reliable, proven givewal charities for a while. But the leverage that you'd gotten from those potentially superior approaches were something like ten to a thousand. That wasn't enough to offset the 100 to x leverage that you get from transferring money from one of the wod's richest countries to the world's poorest people. We think we're in the ball park of the give o' charities, but haven't found anything yet that feels like, oh, it's superscalable and ten times better than giving directly. Like, they've gone o. deansmary on her new clause: "We are working to find stuff that's in the bulk"
