Pandemics Aren't the Only Threat to Our Chip Supply
Since the 90s, America's share of global chip making has dropped from 37% to 12%. American companies like Apple, AMD, NVIDIA and Qualcomm all hire TSMC to make them. The number one driver was government policies. Al Thompson runs government affairs for Intel. It really provided an attractive incentive for companies to do more manufacturing in East Asia.
