The Role of Politics in Social Life
Wollstonecraft believed that politics was corrupt and could not be refounded on Hobbesian rational principles. But she also saw it as a way of anchoring your social existence around security, which would allow you to leave the anchored politics behind. Politics is everywhere in Wollstonecraft's conception of social life - there isn't a space apart from power or arbitrary rule. The relations between men and women are emblematic of the fundamental challenge of politics.
