Is There Any Universal Morality?
iam very comfortabe with the idea that there are no universal laws of surchion, and the most plausible ones are just very, very good rules of tum which tend to work most of the time. Even the most general rules like, you know, do unto others as you would be done by requires so much caviating and qualification to make it genuinely universal. We can say pretty confidently, yes, universal law, no torture, for example. It's not technically true that that's a uni a law. It just means that for all practical purposes we can act as though it is. I think sometimes you should humour your mother and father, tn one of them,
