Thera - The Central Event in the Chronology of the Bronze Agegean

The date of the eruption of volcano of thera is tied up with all sorts of things in different methods of dating and historical sources. And basically, it's essentially the hinge point for when things happened in this entire period of time. Because it was a big volcano, it buried all the surrounding area. So just like pompeii in italy, there's an entire buried town at thera which is called acretere after the nearby modern village.
