Rods and Cones Are Colorblind
The light that comes in through the cornea and into the pupil is shine by the lens on the back wall of the retina where the rods and cones act like film. Cones can see color, but they take more light. Rods are colorblind because there's not enough light entering your eye to power the sight that we know of as determining different colors. At the precise spot where that nerve leaves your eye on both eyeballs, you have a blind spot.
