The Neurotic's Response to Demand
"To take that experience of the other's desirousness and funnel it through demand is a completely neurotic move," he says. "It invites the big other to operate sadistically as we see on page 104 of the seminar." The only thing left for them to demand from you is a sign of your castration, which also comes up in this passage.
