Long form content is something that goes beyond documentation and examples, right? Like this API method can do this thing. It's not here as an example application to inspire you to some other use case. I would say one thing that impressed me about APImatic and the developer portal that they create is because they're creating the SDKs along with the dev portal. They actually generate a getting started guide and they have screenshots that are SVGs that like update the paths. And then they also generate like live code samples that are in the documentation and you can actually turn off and on different properties and it updates the code in real time. That's my dream.
In this episode we’re joined by Sid Maestre, VP of Developer Relations at APIMatic, a platform that simplifies API consumption by automatically generating high-quality SDKs, code samples, dynamic docs, and test cases for your API. Prior to his current role, he was the Director of Developer Relations at Karbon; the Director of Developer Experience & Advocacy at Lob; and is also an experienced public speaker within the industry!
They discuss what it’s like collaborating with marketing in the DevRel world; Sid’s unconventional origins in social sciences; as well as some of the core principles that he’s learned whilst being in DevRel. They also delve into whether it’s your personality or ability that drives your success - which do you think it is?
