The Importance of Being a Volunteer in the Community

Liverpool Action Asylum is trying to get people seeking asylum to opportunities to volunteer in the community alongside local people. The most exciting project recently has been a new scheme called MIB, which means make it a bit better. A lot of people might not be aware that when people claim asylum and coming into the UK, they're not actually legally allowed to work. So this idea of being able to give people the opportunity to stay busy,. to be part of a community, to bepart of something is hugely important for them.
