Universities are an interesting one. Paper universities are the places that our society kind of sets aside for very high risk and interesting ideas to come through. Almost everything in universities is now a kind of ga of scoring points to get a job, to get more grants, to get tenure. Big ideas parcalate away for decades, potentially. It takes an awful long time, and you might have very little to show for it. So this obsession with short termism really weighs.
