Soepagetix is a new book about the science of epigenetics. It explains how genes are modified by other molecules in our bodies. But it also shows that these modifications may be heritable, meaning things you do during your lifetime could be passed on to your children without changing dna itself. The author says he doesn't think there's enough evidence for this idea at this stage and so can't support it as an evolutionary mechanism.
