Science is a hirisk activity. One of the reasons we need history of science is to give ourselves a little bit of that perspective. And also, there's a kind of survivorship by us in these stories. We're picking out the most successful theories and out to be right. What about all the failed theories that people had that we don't even know what they are? Because they never got published or theye never panned out into anything,. knowing no scientist ever picked them up and used them, and they're just gone. But my favorite chapter your book is on the whole eddington eclipse experiments to test einstein's theory relativity.
