Stickler for Detail
A stickler for detail is an idiom which describes someone who pays close attention to detail and they're very particular about how things are done. I don't hear the word stickler being used in any other way than as part of this phrase 'to be a stickler for details' In teaching world it's good for a teacher to be a sticklers for detail. Although in some cases it's fantastic to be astickler for detail.
