Can You Not Hold All of Stack Overflow in Memory at Once?

We don't cache the question show page, which is our hottest path. 80% of the traffic goes to that page. We found out through measuring that the hit miss cache rates was actually not that great. So we removed all cache and that was like three or four years ago. And later did we know it didn't really make any measurable effects on performance.
