The Story of Edward Brattic
In 1754, a skirmish broke out between British and French colonial militia detachments in the Upper Ohio Valley. The exact events of this fight were then disputed for decades afterward. It was disputed whether either side had hailed or acknowledged the other before fighting broke out. Edward Brattic rose quickly through the ranks, eventually replacing his father as the commander of the Cold Stream Guards.
