Is Vasopressin Related to Monogamy?

Researchers have linked it to a hormone called vaso pressin. If you take a monogamous voll and allow him to meet, the male will mate normally but he won't form a bond with his partner. So they knew that the hormone was related to monogamy. But stephen phelps wanted to know why it worked like that. He looked at the brains of voles in the wild. They had lots of asopressing receptors in the area of the brain that deals with memory for your partner. It turns out the brains of the monogamous voles looked really different.
