India's Electricity Plan Will Not Consider New Coal Plants
The Indian government released an updated national electricity plan, saying that it would not consider any proposals for new coal plants for the next five years. The country is only installing up to 17 gigawatts of clean energy per year currently. India's power consumption grew a full 10% in February compared to last year. There have been unseasonal heat waves in 2022 and 23, with intense summer weather starting a full three months earlier than usual.
