What Causes the Static Electricity Smells?

No one fully knows the answer to what causes these smells. And there are a lot of guesses about it. Some people think it's the spacesuits themselves giving off gases or going through a process called off guessing after being exposed to thermal extremes that exist out in outer space. Another suggestion, particularly for that static electricity smell is the production of ozone. But how is ozone getting onto the international space station? The ISS isn't that high up is it? It would not be close enough to get ozone to it.
