The Effect of COVID on Early Intervention

Anton: The study was stopped early because of COVID. Most studies around the world, they would have stopped long before that and many were stopped for COVID. At the time that we actually stopped this study with our paramedics working 18 months during COVID, we had a workforce about 75% of the normal workforce. Of those 75%, 90% were stuck in offload delay. By the time paramedics got to the scene, the patients were on their fourth or fifth or sixth shock by the fire services. In fact, the whole premise of the study, i.e. early intervention, was completely destroyed. So all it really means is that the results are great and they're promising
