DevOps - What You Should Know About Configuration Management
In most shops that are talking about DevOps, I'm going to hope that they're using configuration management at this point. Configuration management is software that you use to programmatically build out your systems. If I need something done, I should work with the operations engineers to make sure that that code gets put into that code base. So don't do that with your infrastructure. Make sure that you're helping the operations team put those changes to the systems and capturing that inside of whatever they're using to manage configuration.
