The Importance of Sharing Information With Children When They Discover They Have a Different Way of Being
When parents don't want to share with their children what can you say? I think it's important that parents reflect on on why they might hesitate to share information with their child and what kind of message that sends right. Children are laser focused on when they are different than their friends so even a preschooler who's having more trouble separating than the other kids might know and feel bad about it. Letting them know that their brain is working differently is actually an empowering thing that might give them a positive impact on their self-esteem. We're all different and we all have things that are harder for us and we're going to make it better together.
