Is There a Labor Reshuffle?
In some this concept, this sort of weird neologism of essential workers, its meaning seems to be very broad and ambiguous and flexible. And it's really, at root, i would say, euphemism for low paid workers who must be compelled to keep working in order for higher paid, or white color workers to stay home and be safe. So my hope is that in light of these different contexts and backgrounds, it should not be surprising that a dramatic labor re shuffle is happening. Something has got to give. Everyone is not going to keep playing along with these different and conflicting expectations.
