The $6 Billion Release of Six Detainees From South Korea for Iran
The U.S. has agreed to pay Iran $6 billion in exchange for the release of five Iranian Americans held since 2009. The money had been frozen due to sanctions, but it's unclear how they will guarantee their use. John Sutter says he thinks this is a good deal and could help ease diplomatic relations between the United States and Iran. He also argues that by releasing these prisoners we should be able to get our spies back from an autocratic regime.
