Candle Mass Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary Presentation of Christ
Today is 40 days after Christmas. In Leviticus chapter 12, we learn that a mother and a father are bringing their baby to the temple for the mother to be richly purified because of the blood. Joseph and Mary did that 40 days after the birth of Christ at the temple. They were not wealthy enough to offer to the lamb as a burnt offering or as a holocaust. So they offered two turtle doves as is stipulated in LeviticUS chapter 12. That's today's Catholic feast day. It's also called candle mist because candles are lit in the procession for candle mist. By the way, you should get your candles blessed. Especially when we talk about three days
