Is There a Difference Between a Factor Model and a Path Model?
The idea that parameters themselves can be functions of other things has liberated my thinking about moderation. I don't want this part of the conversation to be taken as, Oh, wow, you shouldn't be doing it. This is actually part of the benefit of the more general and complicated model. It's a more flexible way of thinking that opens up hypotheses that we might not have thought of otherwise or could be testable in an optimal way.
