Do Not Rejoice When Your Enemy Succeeds
In the book of Proverbs chapter 24, there is this line. Do not rejoice when your enemy falls and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles. Why would God in his word include that word for us? I think the answer is kind of obvious because we have a temptation, a tendency to rejoice when our enemies fall. It's a German word called Schadenfreude,. That that pleasure we take in seeing other people get hurt, go into disgrace.
