If Bentham were alive now where would he be channeling his focus and passion? I always think of Bentham as first and foremost a legal philosopher. We don't have a codified system of law, the common law is still very powerful. He wanted justice to be accessible so any person could just go to a judge and quickly get their claim sorted out that it would be cheap. His phrase was 'the law cognosable'
