The Decentralization of Church Administration

I'm reminded of a story about a missionary call, which you may find of interest. Each missionary is required to send a letter of response to the church president. The boy's father and grandfather had served missions in Germany; they wanted their son to do so too. He did not yet know where he was to be called until his mother opened the letter while he was at school.
