Ryan Feelan: The black-footed ferret lived all across the American Prairie. He says cattle ranchers wanted to remove prairie dogs from the landscape. So as prairie dogs started to disappear, so did the Ferrets, he says. But only seven of 18 that were brought into captivity went on to breed in the wild.
