Kotlin in Instagram for Android - What's Next?

As of 2023, we're about 45% lines of code written in Kotlin. We reached about 61% of Instagram Buck targets contain Kotlin code now. 80% of newly committed Android code is also in Kotlin; that's a really good number. Do you know what's where the remaining 20% come from? Are those legacy parts of the app that are still written in Java and take a lot more work to convert? Or are there some stubborn teams that just love good old Java?
