The Future of Our Stars
One kind of super nova out there in the universe is due to stars colliding. Stars start burning hydrogen, then they make helium and heavier elements. But eventually they make so many heavy metals that they can no longer fuse. So what you're left with is a huge, white, hot chunk of those heavy metals just glowing in space - it's sort of like a dead end for a star.
