The Center of Gravity in American Politics

There's this general sense that the national level of government is just like frozen, you know, filibuster every election. I think what's interesting right now is that whatever solves this national impasse will come from folks who are outside of the specifically toxic nature of D.C. California tends to lead American politics because it gives us Reagan, Barry Goldwater, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Kamala Harris. Any politician who writes for the top points isn't actually competing in the political spaces that are actually at the center of the system.
