Art Ideologies Aren't the Game Anymore
I think that the analogy to make there is that at some point we do need for discursive platforms, conversations more broadly, to be living in 2022. Even though we can borrow from lessons of the past, we cannot inherit that ideological jacket to put on because ultimately it doesn't serve anybody. I could train a neural network on a particular artist and produce infinite songs in their style and image for the rest of time and charge for that. That is very, very different in terms of scale and impact and consequence to what sampling of file sharing was. It's not a game anymore. We kind of need a clean slate approach.
