The American Beatles
The American Beatles were originally a do-op harmony group called the R-Dells. Their manager saw the wild success of the Beatles and suddenly got an idea. The four guys in the band had long hair like the Beatles, they dressed like the Beatles and they kind of sounded like the Beatles. Argentina thought they were getting the real thing. But when it was finally revealed that these were the American Beatles, the press realized they had been duped and turned on the band.
