ERRR #077. Ben Jensen on the Importance of Curriculum
Education Research Reading Room
The Pessimistic View of Changes to the Nation Level
Ben: I'm pessimistic about positive changes to the nation level because we have this consensus from the ground-up approach which means that no one is in actually in a position to make the hard calls. Ben: To me it actually gives the freedom for many many systems many many schools many many teachers to actually adopt best practice without the constraints of a curriculum That's potentially tying their hands at the moment and also I kind of I see a parallel with what’s happened in the UK with their academies and trusts where they opened up the ability to start schools to anyone who was willing to write a 9 to 15 page document.
