The Paradox of Patient Satisfaction
Patient satisfaction is not a helpful metric when it comes to measuring health outcomes, Marty McCarry says. A 2012 study found that the most satisfied patients had higher rates of hospitalization and higher mortality rates. What you're interested in is the doctor's judgment and the doctor's skill and the doctors' ability to empathize.
