The Change in Leadership Structure and Succession Planning at Berkshire

Gee Jane will take over responsibility for all of Berkshire's reinsurance efforts once Tad Montrose retires from General Re. The move has raised some questions about not only the change in leadership structure but succession planning. Given the state of the reinsurance market it makes sense to have Gee'd overseeing both businesses especially if the pricing environment is expected to be difficult for another 10 years and there are duplicative efforts that can be streamlined.
