The Story of Saint Thomas, a Mormon Settlement in Nevada
The town of nevada was founded in 18 65 by a group of Mormon settlers. They farmed the land, built a church that they all went to together and just vived. In 18 70, there was a survey done, and it turns out that this small chunk of land was actually determined to be nevada's piece of land. The men owed a lot of money also, ws like kind of a dick move, yes, grandfather. And so they simply didn't have enough money to pay that. So they left the town abandoned. But 20 years later, farmers again realized how great the soil was, and they began harvesting the land all over again.
