How Do We Measure the Character of a Neighborhood and Its Depression Level?
I was really taken by your descriptions of how the emotional tenor of a neighborhood and a city is just picked up by the brain. We don't actually measure those things, right? We measure the outcomes. And then we have kind of strong theory to guess that these kind of correlational studies are actually getting at some mechanisms. But it would be, you know, one of the things I've been thinking about recently is whether or not we can use some of these online video games where people are kind of building worlds collaboratively in order to get more detailed causal information.
