Intermediation Functions Should Be Fully Transparent?
If we can't see the intermediary layer, or it's very expensive, or it. difficult, do we obviate the need for that exhaustive look at the bank balance sheet layer? Well, thit depends on whether you believe the intermediation function should be fully transparent too. I think that's really the answer here, is to create a layered approach. It's just a question of how much, how many layers do we need, and how do we tailor each layer to its intended function? Soi i think it's a much more complicated issue than saying we want everything to be com transparent," he says.
