Both countries used to have a kind of, from the early 19 hundred until the seventies, about had having a pretty s successful broad based bargaining system. And then both got rid of them, and have had, for again, predictable consequences. Not only dod the broad base bargaining systems lead to lot fewer workers getting covered, lent to rises in equality, stagnant wages,. It also undermined the ability of unions to recruit.
