How to Have a Conversation With Your Interview Subjects

I look for moments in the song that particularly excite me or, or razz my curiosity. And I'll ask them about sort of where they were in their life and what was going on when they started working on the song. It's so hard to articulate a moment of inspiration if you ever can. But if you have something that you created soon after that, it's a little bit easier to rememberwhat was going on or what the feeling was or what the context was. So you frame it a little bit, even for them just to work with recounting.
