I don't really like the term unfair the us. How many americans know that we're the most protectionist developed country in the world in terms of tariffs? Right now, if you did appall, we have the highest tariffs in the entire developed world. The success of countries is not about how they're treated by other countries. It's about what they do themselves. And i'm not sure the japanese transition made properly after the early nineties. Ah, it seems to me their tech firms are less dynamic than ours.
