At the time, there was a sense of you could only do things which were sort of worthy of all that time and energy. If you strayed from this tight, narrow list of things, it felt like somehow you were not being successful. So at that moment, i was more open to something, like, i'm a little, i think i more touchy feeling, or whatever you want to call it now, more spiritual.
