The Tale of Kings
The second dynasty is still mysterious, and records are too fragmentary to say anything with confidence. Did conflict in the second dynasty inspire the great myth of warring gods? It's certainly possible a civil war between two kings might have made for good storytelling,. Eventually, the Tale of Kings may have become a tale of gods. We may never know the full story of this dark time. Still, at least one thing is relatively clear. As dynasty too came to its end, the land of Egypt was in need of healing. A crack had formed in the state, and the people were suffering. That crack would take decades to fix.
