You don't have to use the same sort of citation forms that languages you're familiar with. Because it's just whatever is convenient will end up being chosen as a citation form. And the auxiliaries mark for tense. You've got present and past, or basically non-past and past mood. It's got an indicative, a subjunctive or potential, which basically means can be able to can. imperative, conditional is sometimes considered also a separate mood. People are not quite sure what to put it. Others just put it as a suffix on the verb.
