This book was actually looking at the disappearance of humor from, let's say the Jewish novel in some of the books that came up around Benzio Netanyahu's contemporaries. In Anglo in the Anglo American world it was something that was a lot closer to this Russian, almost social realism kind of thing with a sort of intoxicated and almost humorless modernism.
