Brent: If we knew our text really well, and we knew the passage that jesus was quoting, we would realize he stopped his quotation short of one truth. He purposely leaves that out is his way of saying, i'm sorry, rabbi. Not only is your eschatology wrong, but you're going to die in prison. And what is john's reaction? Brent? He doesn't say anything. We don't know. The text neve tells us.
