How to Measure Arterial Pressure Correctly
The mean arterial pressure is really the perfusing pressure that most organs in your body see. A very widened pulse pressure could suggest aortic regurgitation or any sort of low SVR state. The opposite would be an underdamping system, and this gives a characteristic peaked, narrow waveform. It overestimates systolic and underestimates diastolic blood pressure.
