For a sphere, s o three. For a circle, it's called u one. There are other kinds of lee groups, but there's only a finite number of possible lee groups. Mathematically, those are groups that can be represented using unitary matrices. They're just groups of symmeteries of things that aren't quite geometrical objects,. You can think of them if you think about complex numbers.
